Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment to the highest clinical standards of cleanliness throughout KANA’s facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the organization’s mission and goals and quality standards. Incorporates KANA’s core values of Courtesy, Caring, Respect, Sharing, and Pride in all activities and decisions.
- Upholds KANA’s Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.
- Provides custodial services as assigned for spaces that may include offices, conference rooms, restrooms, and public areas by routinely removing trash or debris, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, wiping handrails and door knobs, and cleaning windows. This may include driving to multiple sites throughout the workday. This position ensures a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness is maintained throughout each day.
- Removes trash, recycled items and shredded paper from assigned locations on a recurring basis.
- Ensures all entryways and sidewalks are clean and clear of debris, sweeping and removing trash as needed.
- Regularly spot-checks lobbies, public areas and entrances; cleaning and sanitizing/disinfecting as needed. Monitors ongoing needs to ensure a safe environment and reports any safety concerns.
- Completes cleaning tasks using appropriate methods, equipment, and chemicals.
- Stocks inventory in all assigned custodial closets and notifies Custodial Supervisor when levels are getting low to ensure appropriate inventory is maintained. Ensures all custodial closets are neat, clean and maintained.
- Greets visitors, staff, and others in a professional courteous manner, and direct visitors as appropriate.
Custodian II
The Custodian II role encompasses all responsibilities of a Custodian I and extends further, showcasing growth in various areas:
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, with limited supervision.
- Has an understanding of cleaning products, proper use of them, and proper cleaning techniques.
- Performs cleaning and sanitizing at a high level.
- Provides guidance and support to Custodian I team member(s), sharing acquired knowledge and fostering professional growth within the team.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
Custodian I: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Custodian II: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 40 hours of basic custodial practices and safety training highly preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Driver's License for the past three consecutive years with acceptable driving record.
