Summary
The Event and AV Coordinator supports the planning and delivery of internal and external events at assigned KANA locations. Primary responsibilities include audiovisual (AV) setup and operation, event coordination, and on-site logistical support. The role requires hands-on work, regular in-person presence, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions, representing KANA positively with staff, clients, and the community.
Event Coordination & Support
Assist with planning, execution of setup, for events, meetings, and programs held at locations assigned.
Input event details, forms, and schedules into event software for tracking and communication.
Prepare and organize event rooms, ensuring furniture, signage, and supplies are properly arranged, and all areas remain clean and presentable.
Facilitate the organization of the event spaces, storage, kitchen, and other assigned areas; restock supplies and maintain inventory.
Support and execute event setup, ensuring seamless transitions between functions.
Collaborate with other departments regarding marketing and promotional efforts.
Attend or operate events requiring AV support and act as the primary on-site contact for event hosts and participants.
Represent KANA at community and outreach events as needed to promote the Kodiak Marketplace.
Audio-Visual (AV) Support
Prepare, test, and operate AV systems and equipment before, during, and after meetings and events.
Conduct AV preparation and facilitate meetings with clients and staff to review setup needs and troubleshoot technical challenges.
Support technical upgrades, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and in good working order; coordinate with IT as needed.
Troubleshoot AV issues during events and provide real-time solutions to maintain event continuity.
Ensure all equipment is properly stored and secured after use.
Administrative Support
Create and maintain event resumes for various meetings and programs.
Program and manage key cards for event access as assigned.
Track AV usage, supplies, and maintenance needs; report any repair or replacement requests to the Event Manager.
Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience with the public. Associate’s degree in business administration, marketing, hospitality, management, information technology, or related fields preferred. Knowledge of OBS and other AV software is highly preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of Alaska Native culture and communications is preferred.
Additional Requirements: Valid Driver's License. Reliable transportation or comfortability with driving a company-owned vehicle is required. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
This position is onsite only and not eligible for remote or hybrid work. The Event and AV Coordinator must be physically present to support event logistics, setup, and audiovisual operations.
