The Health Information Technology Manager oversees the support, training, and optimization of the organization’s key clinical systems, including Cerner, Dentrix, and CareLogic. This role, ensures effective end-user training, ongoing support, and alignment of clinical workflows with IT solutions. The Manager provides strategic direction, establishes support processes, and ensures cross-coverage across applications to maintain continuity of services. This role leads the successful adoption and implementation of new programs, applications, and software to maximize the efficiency of health operations and functions that utilize these programs and applications. The manager will work collaboratively with KANA Health leadership and departments to ensure training and other information technology needs are being met.

- Leads, supervises, and develops the team of staff, including Clinical Application Coordinators and Informaticists.
- Oversees development and successful implementation of training program, including initial and ongoing training, for providers and staff across Cerner, Dentrix, and CareLogic and other health information technologies systems and platforms.
- Develops and oversees consistent support processes and documentation for issue resolution, upgrades, and optimizations.
- Coordinates with IT, clinical leadership, and vendors to manage system updates, testing, and adoption.
- Fosters cross-training and redundancy across the team to ensure seamless support coverage.
- Monitors performance of clinical systems and staff satisfaction, implementing improvements as needed; Identifies opportunities for additional training and support.
- In coordination with clinical leadership, creates training plans and standard operating procedures for system use.
- Serves as escalation point for application and training-related issues.
- Manages staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution for support coverage.
- Represents KANA on various ANTHC committees and ensure KANA Leadership is kept apprised of relevant information from these committee and work groups.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides direct supervision to the Health IT staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in health informatics, information technology, computer science, health administration or related field, master’s degree preferred, and three to five years of related experience and/or training in clinical systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated leadership skills with at least two years of experience leading a team. Strong technical background in Electronic Health Records preferably in Cerner, Dentrix, or CareLogic. Excellent in communication and team leadership skills and familiar with HIPAA, healthcare compliance and clinical workflows.
