KANA’s standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, typically consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (total of 8.5 hours on site per day).

 

The Nursing Care Team Manager is responsible for the direct supervision and operational leadership of Nursing Care Teams, including care team Registered Nurses and Medical Assistants, to ensure effective, team-based, patient-centered care. Working closely with and under the direction of the Nursing Director, this role supports high-quality, efficient, and culturally responsive patient care across KANA clinics. Provides unit-level leadership, supports staff development, assists with training and competency oversight, and helps maintain clinical quality standards, efficient workflows, and strong communication within multidisciplinary teams.

  • With close collaboration with the Nursing Director, supports high-quality, efficient, and culturally responsive patient care across KANA clinics
  • Oversees and ensures effective execution of RN case management activities including panel quality measure management, chronic disease management and follow-up care.
  • Responsible for the effective delivery of Medical Assistant functions including rooming, vitals, procedures, and EMR documentation.
  • Coordinates care team members’ daily clinic workflow for efficient patient care coordination and delivery.
  • Leads daily huddles and care coordination activities.
  • Ensures adherence to protocols, infection control standards, and safety measures.
  • Supports quality goals and improvement initiatives and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Identifies workflow improvement opportunities and participates in quality projects.
  • Promotes positive, professional communication among staff and providers. Supports conflict resolution and customer service excellence.
  • Manages scheduling, planning, and departmental support activities.
  • Participates in committees, meetings, and data reporting as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises all nursing care team members, including RN Case Managers and Medical Assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of AK and current BLS certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in outpatient or ambulatory nursing experience. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. 

Proficiency with Electronic Health Records, strong clinical assessment and delegation skills and ability to coach and support staff.
