All KANA positions are based in Kodiak and are not eligible for remote work. Applicants must reside in Kodiak or be willing to relocate.

 

KANA’s standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, typically consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (total of 8.5 hours on site per day).

 

Summary Responsible for maintaining a secure, safe, clean, and welcoming environment to the highest clinical standards of cleanliness throughout KANA’s facilities. Experience and/or training in building maintenance, grounds-keeping, carpentry, plumbing, and/or electrical systems is required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports the organization’s mission and goals and quality standards. Incorporate KANA’s core values of Courtesy, Caring, Respect, Sharing, and Pride in all activities, actions, and decisions.
  • Upholds KANA’s Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.
  • Assists with general building maintenance while maintaining a quality standard for conditions of all KANA owned and leased facilities by performing inspections, repairing and maintaining floors/walls/and ceilings to include patching and painting, repairing, or replacing plumbing, lighting, electrical, basic carpentry, office furniture, changing lights, installing shelving, changing filters, and hanging wall fixtures, etc.
  • Assists with assembling and installing all furniture in a safe and proficient manner, capable of setting up meeting spaces, and assisting with unloading and storing of materials and supplies.
  • Ensures KANA grounds are safe and clean by performing activities such as snow removal and spreading snow melt, removing trash, dirt, and leaves from common areas, entryways, sidewalks, and parking lots; installing signage along walkways/driveways to ensure safe passage/travel; and general maintenance of all ground equipment and tools.
  • Monitors facilities to ensure patients, employees, and visitors have a safe and clean environment while on KANA owned properties; reporting any safety or security concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Greets and interacts with visitors, staff, and others in a professional courteous manner, and direct visitors as appropriate.
  • Travels to remote communities by small plane as assigned to complete work at KANA owned or operated facilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, with limited supervision.
  • Performs basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical skills.
  • Utilizes the Zendesk work ticket system.
  • Available for on-call work and able to adjust to a changing work schedule based on emergencies and scheduled maintenance activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 


Requirements

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) to three (3) years of experience and/or training in building maintenance, grounds-keeping, carpentry, plumbing, and/or electrical systems. Other trade certifications, Vocational or AA degree highly preferred. 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Driver's License for the past three consecutive years with acceptable driving record.
