All KANA positions are based in Kodiak and are not eligible for remote work. Applicants must reside in Kodiak or be willing to relocate.
KANA’s standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, typically consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (total of 8.5 hours on site per day).
Provides comprehensive HR support to KANA and our employees, with a heavy emphasis on employee onboarding and orientation. Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders with an overarching focus on providing a superior customer service experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the organization’s mission and goals and quality standards. Incorporates KANA’s core values of Courtesy, Caring, Respect, Sharing, and Pride in all activities and decisions.
- Upholds KANA’s Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.
- Coordinates the pre-boarding of new employees, students, contractors, and locums, and facilitates Day 1 Orientation.
- Coordinates travel arrangements for candidate site visits.
- Manages and facilitates New Hire Orientation on a monthly basis.
- Supports the efficient processing of HR Actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and separations.
- Develops, implements, and administers HR policies and procedures. Assists in the ongoing maintenance of HR policies, job descriptions, staff directories, and other related documents.
- Maintains personnel records.
- Administers KANA’s Drug and Alcohol Free program to include scheduling drug screenings, responds to requests for information, provides ongoing maintenance, and supports all billing needs.
- Receives employee concerns related to alleged compliance or company policy violations and refers to appropriate parties while maintaining confidentiality on a need to know basis.
- Assists with HR-related special projects, event coordination, and event planning.
- Supports other HR roles, and acts as back-up to other HR positions as necessary.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or related field; two to three years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a healthcare environment; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem solving, conflict resolution, organizational, and time-management skills, as well as proficiency with working independently and collaboratively. Prompt, reliable, and predictable attendance and a passion for helping people are essential functions of the position.
Demonstrated proficiency analyzing situations, and developing and implementing appropriate solutions. Effective interpersonal and public relations skills as well as effective writing, public speaking and reading comprehension skills a must.
